Autumn 2024

This September, I had the wonderful opportunity to collaborate with a client on a meaningful project. Jess discovered over 100 letters from his father, written during his time in WWII, and transformed them into a treasured family book. My role was to design the front and back covers, helping to honor this significant piece of history.

Jess’s sketch

I spoke with Jess to explore his vision and share my insights. He mentioned his preference for Arial font, as it was similar to what was used by the Army during that era, and he was eager to include two photographs of Bill on the front cover.

The red ribbon is the ribbon Bill got in the Army. The patch is his unit badge. Using a scanner and a little bit of Photoshop, I was able to incorporate these elements into the front cover.
